For ease of navigation, this KB has been bifurcated into the following sections:
Stage 1: Download, Install & Activate BitRaser File Eraser Corporate
Step 1: Download the BitRaser File Eraser Corporate for Windows software using the link provided in the email (See Image 1).

Step 2: Install the software by following the on-screen instructions (See Image 2a). During installation, you will be prompted to set a root password for the MariaDB database. Enter your preferred password and click ‘Next’ (See Image 2b).
Note: Remember this password, as it is required to establish a connection with the MariaDB database when using the application.

Step 3: Activate the software using the 16-digit alphanumeric license key sent to you (See Image 3a & 3b).

Step 4: Post activation, you will be prompted to enter the MariaDB root password. Enter the same password you created during the installation and click ‘Next’ (See Image 4).

Step 5: Next, you will be prompted to establish a connection with the BitRaser Cloud. This is required to save reports on the cloud console for future reference. Enter the BitRaser Cloud credentials that were shared in a separate email from [email protected], and then click ‘Login’ (See Image 5a).

Note: You can skip this step if you want to store the reports on your local machine only.
Now you will see the main interface of BitRaser File Eraser Corporate Windows (See Image 5b).

Now, you are ready to start erasing files and folders on your Windows system.
Stage 2: Securely Erase Files, Folders Using BitRaser File Eraser Corporate
The File Eraser tool offers the following erasure options that are explained in detail below:
- Erase Files & Folders:
You can either use ‘Search & Erase’ to locate files by their name and location or click ‘Add Files/Folders to Erase’ to manually add multiple files and folders (See Image 6a).
After selecting the files and folders, click ‘Erase Now’ (See Image 6b).
Click ‘Proceed’ to confirm the erasure (See Image 6c).

Once the process is complete, you will see the status for all erased files as Completed (See Image 6d).

Note: You can choose the erasure methods and verification type via ‘Settings’ as per your organizational data disposal policy (See Image 6e).

- Erase Free Space:
You can wipe the ‘Free Space’ on selected volumes, including local drives (such as C: and D:) and network drives. Choose the volume and click ‘Erase Now’ (See Image 7).
Click ‘Proceed’ to confirm free space erasure.

Note: Free space on a drive can contain traces of deleted files that remain recoverable until overwritten.
- Erase Traces:
This option allows you to erase ‘Application Traces,’ ‘Browsing Activity,’ and ‘System Traces.’
Select the traces you want to wipe and click ‘Erase Now’ (See Image 8).

- Erase Volume:
You can erase entire volumes using this option. Even if you select the C: drive, the OS files remain intact. Select the volume you want to erase and click 'Erase Now' (See Image 9).

- Schedule Erasure:
Using this feature, you can schedule the erasure of 'Traces' and 'Files & Folders' on a periodic interval. You may schedule it to run once, daily, weekly, monthly, or with each boot. You can pick the date and time according to your preference (See Image 10).

- Reports:
This tab displays reports for all completed erasure tasks. Reports are uploaded automatically when the application is connected to the BitRaser Cloud. Select a report and click ‘Save’ to store it on your local system (See Image 11).
